Marc Melville Elected as President of the Association of Jamaica Attractions for the Third Consecutive Year
October 14, 2010 (Montego Bay, Jamaica) -
On October 13, the Association of Jamaica Attractions (AJAL) held its annual general meeting and elected Marc Melville of Chukka Caribbean Adventures (CCA) its President for the third consecutive year.
”It is a great honour to be chosen to lead this organization again,“ said Melville, AJAL President and Managing Director at CCA. ”We achieved some great things in the past year - such as the launch of the AJAL website at JAPEX 2010 - and we have some ambitious plans for the future, including working closely with the Government to increase the licensing compliance for attractions island-wide. I am humbled that members have chosen me to lead AJAL as we continue to move forward.”
The 26th Annual General Meeting took place at the Ocho Rios port onboard the Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines ship Liberty of the Seas. Although the first time in history that AJAL has hosted its AGM on a cruise ship, the location was fitting due to the significant investment the Port of Falmouth represents for Jamaica and the role Royal Caribbean played in its development.
“Distinguished guests in attendance who will play a major role in working with Royal Caribbean to facilitate the investment in Trewlany included; Paul Muschett, Custos of Trelawny; Colin Gager, Mayor of Falmouth; Carl Hendriks, Historic Falmouth Jamaica; Jason Hall, JTB Deputy Director of Tourism - Cruise, Events & Attractions; and Carolyn Riley, Ministry of Tourism.
Chukka Caribbean Adventures is please to be a member of AJAL and shares the organization’s mission to provide diverse attractions and high quality of service to all visitors while promoting and maintaining the highest standards.
